Hallooo from animator (and Navy Brat) David March, in Virginia Beach, VA. A friend sent the link to your story of drifting uncomfortably close to the Near-Poop-Incident. Fun reading, if not living…

I’ve drawn silly pictures for many years, and played fun music even longer. Animation offered opportunities to do both. Teaching at Art Institute of Virginia Beach now puts me in the company of a whole lot of military vets, who are both motivated and talented. More to the point, they can focus and get tasks done. I foresee a real flowering of the industry, with a U.S. flavor…

When I saw you used to mess around with video games, it put me in mind of my years in Silicon Valley BEFORE the dot-com bubble burst. I worked for Atari Games from ’93 to ’96 – Primal Rage, California Speed, and a 3D fighting game that never got out the door.

I’ll be looking forward to reading your stories!

David! I’m glad you were able to enjoy the story, not so fun at the time but worth the laugh after the fact.

That is so cool that you helped design video games. When I have to lie about my job my #1 go to job is a video game designer. I wish it were actually true. My favorite podcast is Rooster Teeth! Video games are awesome, but alas the military is very demanding which leaves pretty much no time for anything else. Feel free to comment as much as you want and stay tuned for next weeks episode
